Throughout the year NWO organises events that open the world of science to the general public. These events and lectures are usually made available later in the form of free publications.

Spinoza debates

An annual series of debates with Spinoza laureates held at the Paard van Troje in The Hague and organised in cooperation with the Paard van Troje and the NRC Handelsblad newspaper.

Spinoza Prize

Each year the Spinoza Prize is awarded to four top researchers. It is the highest scientific award in the Netherlands. During the Spinoza Prize ceremony the winners receive their prize and say something about their work and how they will use the prize money.
