Workshop on development of Technology Areas for Sustainable Chemistry

18 October 2010

On Wednesday 13 October the second TASC workshop took place at Utrecht. The main goal objective was to inventorise the wishes of industry concerning the research topics of the four Technology Areas for Sustainable Chemistry (TASCs).

These TASC will be small, flexible cooperations between academia and industry, aimed at innovative and sustainable chemistry, with a strong focus on the implementation of innovative  technological developments. Within each project at least two companies are expected to participate and to settle for the fourth part. In the beginning of December, a more specified elaboration of the execution of the TASC programmes is expected by Agentschap NL.

Fifty representatives were present at the matchmaking workshop, among whom thirteen representatives of industry  from eight different companies. Chair of the day was Han de Winde, the new chair of the Executive Board of ACTS.

The launch of TASC will take place during the ACTS Symposium, which will be held at 12 January, 2011 at Lunteren. ACTS will be responsible for realising these new programmes.
