Investment grants can be used to buy scientific infrastructure or to build, combine or enrich databases.

The NWO part of the budget in Investment Subsidies NWO Medium has an upper limit of € 1,000,000 for the Divisions for Social Sciences and Humanities and € 1,500,000 for the remaining domains, whereas these figures constitute the lower limit for Investment Subsidies NWO Large.

It is expected that the researchers involved currently operate at the highest national level and are already active at the highest international level.

Longitudinal Studies in Social and Behavioural Sciences continuous application
In longitudinal studies repeated measurements are made over a prolonged period of time using the same method in order to identify a particular trend. NWO seeks to contribute to the data-gathering costs of a number of established academic studies that measure changes in society.
